Ever since the My Little Pony toyline first launched in the early 80s, it has been a popular collectible for kids and kids-at-heart alike. Pony collecting is a fun hobby that brings a lot of people joy. Collections come in all shapes and sizes. Some people collect certain years, themes, colors, etc. I've seen a few people collect all generations and variations of one single character. Others collect only one specific generation. Your collection can be whatever you want it to be.

Over the years, the fandom has grown and waned in waves. Pony fairs and conventions were popular in the early 2000s; then, in the 2010s, the new MLP:FIM fandom launched their own brand of pony conventions. Numerous cartoons shows, movies, and games have been produced. But, at the heart of the fandom, pony collecting remains just a fun and heartwarming hobby.
