Current Librarian

Flynn Carsen

First recruited by the Library in 2004, Flynn went on to become the longest surviving Librarian and one of the greatest in the Library's history. A genius polymath with over twenty-two degrees and fluent in many languages, including multiple dead languages. Judson stated several times that Flynn had an important destiny with the Library, and told him after his adventure in New Orleans that he would become a key player in the battle against pure evil. Flynn's bond with the Library is unique and stronger than any other of its staff members, with the Library's spirit referring to Flynn as its best friend. He would later cement this relationship by becoming the second Librarian to tether to the Library.

Former Librarians

Judson

The first Librarian. Also known as "Yahuda" and "The Scholar". He founded the original Library in Alexandria and, after the building was destroyed, transferred it to its new location. After retiring from field work, Judson acted as a caretaker for the Library and as a mentor to the Librarians that came after him. At some unknown point, Judson and his Guardian performed the first tethering ceremony and became immortal. His many years of experience has provided him with a strong understanding of magic, which he often uses to transport around the Library and to communicate with the Librarians that are on assignment. Judson believed Flynn had a special destiny with the Library and acted as both a mentor and father figure to him. He died two years after the events of Curse of the Judas Chalice from unknown causes.

Edward Wilde

The Librarian immediately preceeding Flynn Carsen. He was originally presumed dead, requiring the selection of a new Librarian. However, it was later discovered that he had faked his death and was now hunting an artifact for his own gain.

Darrington Dare

Tbe Librarian during the late 1800s. Like most Librarians, he originally died young after being killed by an enemy; however, a temporal incident allowed him to meet Flynn Carsen and, following his advice, Darrington made some changes to his life which ultimately ended up saving his life.

Teddy Chislington

Active during the 1800s, he was the Librarian tasked with moving the last of the Library's collection from Alexandria to the new location in New York. He disappeared during the voyage and his fate was unknown for the next two centuries. While hunting for the Eye of Ra, Flynn Carsen discovered that Teddy had survived and was guarding the Eye in a pocket dimension.

Balthus and Zharradan

Twin brothers from the 5th century. The Library considered them both excellent candidates and, instead of choosing between them, made them both Librarians. They eventually had a falling out, leading to a war that threatened the Library itself. Because of this, the role of Librarian was never again allowed to be held by more than one person at a time.

Guardians

Charlene

The first Guardian. It is unknown at what point Charlene joined the Library. She acted as Judson's Guardian while he was the Librarian, and later tethered with him to the Library -- becoming immortal in the process. After retiring from field work, Charlene became the Library's business manager, accountant, and acted as the personnel director over the other Library employees, including the Librarians and Guardians. Very little is known about Charlene's life prior to her meeting Flynn. It was stated that she was married at one point to a man named Gaston, with the two having divorced shortly before the first movie. Charlene was lost for a time when the Library's connection to the real world was severed. Not long after her return, she chose to give up her immortality and died.

Nicole Noone

The Guardian to Edward Wilde until his presumed death. After that, she became Flynn Carsen's Guardian and helped him during his early days of adjusting to life at the Library. Nicole is half-English half-Argentinian and a highly skilled fighter. Three months after becoming Flynn's Guardian, she was caught in an explosion and presumed dead. It was later discovered that she was instead sent back in time and became immortal. She was kidnapped and imprisoned for many years by Jenkins before escaping, after which she plotted revenge against the entire Library. She nearly succeeded in her revenge before being stopped. Flynn then went back in time and convinced Nicole to instead use her position in history to help rather than hurt the Library, and she accepted the responsibility of becoming the Guardian to the Library itself.

Eve Baird

Recruited by the Library in 2014. Eve was chosen to be Flynn Carsen's new Guardian, after Nicole's presumed death ten years prior. After Flynn took in the "Librarians In Training (LITs)", he asked Eve to act as their bodyguard and team leader. Eve helped protect and train the LITs and get them ready for field work. She also occasionally acted as Flynn's Guardian on and off throughout the years. Together with Flynn, Eve helped save the timeline during the Loom of Fate incident, and again when Nicole enacted her revenge against the Library. Four years after she began working for the Library, Eve and Flynn tethered to the Library, becoming immortal in the process.

The LITs

These three were among the many potential candidates sent invitations after Edward Wilde's presumed death in 2004. Although the Library chose Flynn to be the new Librarian, the names of all the invited candidates were kept on record, causing them to be targeted ten years later when the Brotherhood was after the crown of King Arthur. Flynn and Eve rounded up these three as the last surviving candidates and helped protect them against the Brotherhood. Afterwards, Flynn invited them to stay at the Library's Annex in Portland so they could start training to be Librarians. (LIT = Librarian In Training.)

Cassandra Cillian

A synthestete with a photographic memory. Flynn and Eve brought her to the Library to protect her when the Brotherhood was targeting Librarian candidates. However, the Brotherhood used a potential cure for her brain tumor as a way of convincing her to join them instead. Cassandra ended up betraying the team and causing the loss of the Library, the death of Excalibur, and almost the death of Flynn. After the Brotherhood turned on her, Flynn invited Cassandra back onto the team. Since then, she worked hard to prove herself to the Library and to her teammates.

Cassandra is a genius in many fields of science, especially mathematics and physics. She is the only one of the LITs who actually tried to study and understand magic, and how to use it. Combining her knowledge of magic and physics has often allowed her to solve whatever puzzle the team is currently being faced with. During the Loom of Fate incident, three alternate timelines were created in which each of the LITs were tasked with being the Librarian; in her timeline, Cassandra was able to hold out longer and put up a stronger defense againt the end of the world than her teammates had done.

Ezekial Jones

A master thief and an expert in computers and technology. Ezekial was raised by a family of thieves and apparently has a strong reputation among the criminals of the world. He also was recruited by MI6 at one point, but no details are known about his work for them. Ezekial is the youngest member of the team and the most immature. Initially, he doesn't take his job seriously and doesn't put any effort into studying or research. However, he did slowly mature through the years, and eventually came to respect the work he does for the Library. He is incredibly loyal to his teammates and would do anything for them.

Jacob Stone

Before being recruited by the Library, Jacob worked for an oil company in Oklahoma. He has a genius IQ and honorary degrees at several universities. His fields of study are a bit varied, but mostly center around art, history, and architecture. He chose to keep his intelligence a secret from his friends and family, and published his research papers under various pseudonyms. While working at the Library, Jacob eventually grew more comfortable with himself and learned to accept himself for who he is, even starting to publish papers under his own name. He speaks nine languages and can read another dozen, making him the best linguist on the team after Flynn. He is also the best out of the LITs at handling himself in a fight, something which often comes in handy when on missions. He especially devoted more time to learning self defense during the months leading up to their battle against Apophis.

Other Staff

Jenkins

The caretaker for the Library's Annex in Portland, Oregon. Originally a knight during the reign of King Arthur, he is an immortal and is also known as Galahad or Galeas. He sided against his father Lancelot during the downfall of Camelot. It is unknown when exactly Jenkins joined the Library's staff, or when he became immortal. It was first implied that Jenkins was reassigned to the Annex due to his inability to get along with his superiors at the Library; however, Jenkins later hinted that he voluntarily moved to the Annex to get away from the "saving the world" aspects of the job.

Jenkins was initially against the idea of training prospective Librarians since "we've never trained Librarians" but he did eventually grow fond of the LITs and Eve. He became a sort of teacher for the LITs, helping them learn more about the Library and its history.
