Author's Notes: Originally posted to Dreamwidth on 2025/03/16. Set several years after the show, when Mason and Corey are at UCLA and sharing an apartment together.
Corey shook his head as he crossed his arms. "We can't keep her."
Across the kitchen, Mason lifted the bundle of fluff in his arms a little higher, as if showing it off would change the situation at all. "She has green eyes, babe."
His gaze flickered down to meet the large green eyes peeking out at him before firmly shifting back up to his boyfriend's face. He knew if he stared at that for too long, he'd cave in. "Whatever color her eyes are, we can't afford a pet. I can barely afford tuition. Not to mention rent."
Mason stepped closer. His expression turned into that cute little pout that always felt a bit like cheating to Corey because he was powerless against it. He couldn't say no to that face.
"We'll work something out. I've got a partial scholarship, so I can cover her expenses."
Corey glanced between the tiny ball of fluff and the pleading look on his boyfriend's face. He deflated with a sigh. "Why do I never seem to win these arguments?"
Mason grinned triumphantly. He leaned in for a quick kiss. "Because you love me."
Well, that was something he definitely couldn't argue against.
