New Fandoms, Current Watchlist, and Upcoming Reviews

I've decided to start writing movie/tv/comic reviews here on the site. I haven't decided yet if that's something I should post here on the blog, in the fandom meta section, or if I should just create a brand new page for reviews. While that's still being decided, I figured I'd at least make a quick post with some of my recently watched things, which ones will be joining my fandoms list, and the shows/movies on my current watchlist (since those are the ones that I'll be posting reviews for eventually).

Watched/read Jan-Apr 2024:

The Librarians (TV 2014) ~ Despite being a HUGE fan of the Librarian movies, I somehow only discovered the existence of this TV show a little before Christmas last year. I finished my watch-through of it a couple months ago and have so many mixed feelings. Overall, though I don't feel it quite lives up to the movies, it is still a very fun show and I enjoyed watching it. Definitely adding to the fandoms list. I've actually already churned out a couple fics for the show (on Dreamwidth and Livejournal) and there will probably be many more to come. Definitely glad Freevee tossed this into my recommended shows list.

Stardust (Movie, 2007) ~ I read this fantastic Librarians fic which is set in a fantasy AU that is based on the Stardust movie. I loved the fic so much I decided to try watching Stardust for myself. It was... interesting. Admittedly, I'm not much of a fantasy fan, so it wasn't likely to appeal to my tastes. That being said, I do understand now why it has such a passionate fanbase. It is a really good movie with some rich worldbuilding and a fun cast of characters. It's not a movie that will ever hit my own favorites list, but I fully understand why it is so treasured by other people.

Superboy: Man of Tomorrow (DC Comics, 2023) ~ Finally had a chance to sit down and read this mini-series. I'm definitely writing a review of it at some point, whether here or on my dreamwidth journal. I have so many thoughts about this one.

Multiple B-Western movies ~ I've been in the process of building a B-Western shrine on my site for quite a while now, so I've been watching through a very long list of those movies every time I work on the shrine. Last month, I crossed off another ten movies from my 'to watch' list. I'm thinking B-Western reviews should probably go over on the shrine page, since there are a lot of them and they would take up too much space anywhere else.
